It’s a top of the table clash in Zone B of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) 2018 season in Pune on Sunday, when Bengaluru Bulls lock horns with defending Champions and second in the table Patna Pirates. Both sides have picked up form in their recent matches and this encounter promises to be a close one.
The Bulls are coming of a superlative effort last night that saw them brush aside Tamil Thalaivas 36-22. It was a match that saw an all-round performance from Bengaluru, highlighted by their captain Rohit Kumar, who grabbed a Super 10 with ten raid points. It was their defence, though, that took the centre stage with 13 tackle points.
Pawan Kumar has been their leading player this season with 148 points from the 12 matches he played. Rohit has 74 points from his 12 games and is slowly picking up pace after a below-par start to the season. Kashiling Adake has 65 points this season, but has been more of a surprise than a consistent performer.
Patna Pirates have also won their last match, a 45-27 romp of Tamil Thalaivas. It was their raider duo of Pardeep Narwal (13 points) and Deepak Narwal (10 points) that gave them a huge lead and sustained it. Defence picked up ten tackle points as well and their raider Manjeet managed three tackle points.
Superstar raider Pardeep has 135 points in the season from 12 matches and has nine Super 10s in the season so far. Manjeet is their next best bet with 64 points in 13 matches, although Deepak Narwal with 58 points from ten matches is slowly picking up form.
The last match played between these sides in Patna was a thriller that ended 43-41 in favour of the Bulls. Pawan Kumar picked up 15 points and Kashiling Adake contributed 11 for Bengaluru, while Deepak Narwal and Manjeet had Super 10s, with Pardeep having an off day with just three points.
Fantasy Kabaddi Players to Watch
Pardeep Narwal is a superstar raider for Patna and his ability to churn out Super 10s is a big plus. He already has nine such performances in 12 games and having missed out against Bengaluru earlier in the season, he will look to make amends in this match.
Pawan Kumar is not far behind, and in fact ahead of Pardeep in the raiding section with 148 points this season. Indeed, he averages 11.58 raid points a game which is the best in the league this season. Need more reasons to put him in your fantasy team?
Rohit Kumar has come into his own in the recent games for Bengaluru and the star raider will look to pick up from where he left in the last game. His experience will come in handy for the Bulls.
