Saturday’s seven-game slate included some exciting games that resulted in some huge fantasy scores for certain individuals. Our best pick was Joel Embiid, who put in a huge shift with 42 points and 18 rebounds, while Andre Drummond (23 points, 11 rebounds), Nikola Jokic (37 points, 21 rebounds) and Karl-Anthony Towns (39 points, 19 rebounds) all put in big performances.
We now shift our focus to Sunday, which is another big 10-game slate and look to provide you with some more great fantasy picks, as well as someone to avoid. Here are our selections for Sunday, 11th November.
Best superstar pick
Each day we’re analysing each match-up and providing our best player of the day based on a number of things, which will result in them likely putting in a big performance.
Our best pick for Sunday is Giannis Antetekounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks). The “Greek Freak” is enjoying a sensational start to the season and is right up there in the early race for the season MVP. He’s averaging over 25 points to go along with a career high 13 rebounds a night. We think he’s got a great chance to eclipse those already impressive numbers on Sunday when he comes up against the Clippers. The Clippers forwards in Gallinari and Harris are good players, but they’re certainly not known for their defence. We feel that they will have a tough time staying in front of Giannis and keeping out of the lane, where he is incredibly dangerous.
Player of difference
This section is for players that won’t be selected by many people, thus making them a great unique pick.
Our recommended POD for Sunday’s slate is Marc Gasol (Memphis Grizzlies). Gasol is now well and truly in the twilight of his career at the age of 33, however, he’s still a star in his own right. The Grizzlies have enjoyed a quietly successful start to the season and it’s in no small part to this man, who’s averaging 15 points, nine rebounds and four assists, while shooting an extremely impressive 45% from beyond-the-arc. The reason why we have him as a potential POD is due to the fact that the Grizz come up against the 76ers, who happen to boast one of, if not the, best big men in the league. This will require Gasol to play extended minutes, which will naturally need to more fantasy points.
Who to avoid
Another important thing to know in fantasy is who not to pick in a certain slate. Here, we’re looking at players that come up against unfavourable match-ups and are likely to have a quieter games.
A star that we recommend avoiding is Kawhi Leonard (Toronto Raptors). This is certainly not a knock on ‘The Claw’, who is enjoying a terrific season so far with his new team. He’s been so good however, that the Raptors have been blowing out their opposition on a nightly basis. This is good for Kawhi and the Raptors, but it’s not so good for DFS players who pick him for their team. We suspect Kawhi and co. dominate their soft match-up again on Sunday, meaning there isn’t a great chance he goes big in fantasy.
