Match #21 in the Indian Premier League 2019 season will see Rajasthan Royal (RR) take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Both sides are coming into this game after comprehensive wins against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Bengaluru.
The Royals picked up their first win of the season against RCB and had a four-day break. With four of their next six games at home, RR will look to make their advantage count. KKR continued their dream run with a big run chase over RCB and have three wins of their last four.
The Royals have struggled when Jos Buttler (139 runs, SR 137.62) struggled. After a brief blip, the opener is back among the runs with a good knock against RCB. Sanju Samson (140 runs, SR 155.55) is another player that the RR want to be scoring big.
Bowling has been about Shreyas Gopal, their surprise package. With six wickets at an ER of 5.58, the leg-spinner has been their leading light. However, Rajasthan would love to see their imports Jofra Archer (three wickets) and Ben Stokes (four wickets) start being more consistent.
All the attention in KKR’s matches and wins was on Andre Russell, but Kolkata have not been only about him. Robin Uthappa (146 runs, SR 135.18) and Nitish Rana (169 runs, SR 159.43) have been consistent at the top, to set the platform for a late Russell onslaught.
Worries remain over their bowling, though, with none of the bowlers conceding under eight runs an over. The likes of Kuldeep Yadav and Sunil Narine are yet to fire and that remains a concern for the Knight Riders.
Fantasy Players to Watch
Jos Buttler loves playing on this ground and has half-centuries in his last four IPL matches at this venue. With the ‘Mankading’ incident behind him for good, the RR opener could unlock value points to your fantasy side.
