Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are going to play their last group match of the Indian Premier League 2019 season against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). This match #54 of the season will be played on Sunday at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
The hosts are already out of contention for the playoffs. The only thing that remains in play for them is to avoid the bottom spot and play for pride. For the SRH, a win will keep their qualification hopes alive. Their superior run rate of 0.653 would come in handy, but only if they beat RCB.
Captain Virat Kohli spoke about his team ‘having fun’ and playing without pressure. We have seen in the past how such sides can trip the ones in search of points. After another disappointing campaign, they would want to sign off on a high. The RCB fans have been one of the best in the tournament and they deserve a win.
Marcus Stoinis has left for international duties. That will leave RCB to decide if they want to recall Shimron Hetmyer or bring in the all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme. With Parthiv Patel proving to be the only consistent scorer, there are so many uncertainties around RCB unit as of now.
The Sunrisers would be hurting from their ‘Super Over’ loss to Mumbai, a match they were completely in charge. The absence of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow has meant the ‘Orange Army’ is now completely dependent on Manish Pandey. Consistent batting collapses has put the spotlight on their middle-order, which is struggling to rise to the task.
Kane Williamson will have his hands full on choosing his bowlers, as the third seamer is not performing at the required level. There could be a chance of beefing up their bowling, by bringing in Billy Stanlake. The performances of Khaleel Ahmed, however, have been a solace.
Fantasy Players to Watch
Parthiv Patel is the ‘in form’ batsman for RCB, although he is guilty of not carrying on till the end. The opener is sure to score a quickfire 30 or 40 at the top, meaning your fantasy points are safe.
Manish Pandey has been a revelation ever since he was promoted to three. Like in the match against Mumbai, he can single-handedly lift the side.
Khaleel Ahmed has 14 wickets in the season in just seven games. The left-armer’s aggression has benefited the side and can be a good asset for your fantasy side.
