Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kings XI Punjab

What do the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have to lose in the Indian Premier League 2019? Still at the bottom of the points tally and very little to lose, they may turn out to be a dangerous customer for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in this match #42 to be played in Bangalore.

RCB start this match bottom of the points tally, but still with a chance of making it to the playoffs. Kings XI have five wins and five losses in their ten matches and will be wary of the scratchy form working against them.

RCB Preview

Virat Kohli and co have picked up back-to-back wins over Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings. In fact, three wins from four is usually considered excellent, had it not been for the six straight losses at the start.

RCB can still make it to the playoffs, should they win all their remaining games. That won’t be top of their mind, as much as improving their performances. Already their bowling looks a different unit with Dale Steyn in it.

KXIP Preview

Kings XI have had a weird campaign so far – never looking in control, but never out in trouble. Five wins out of ten doesn’t tell you much and the top-order of KL Rahul, Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal would want more consistent runs from their bats.

Lot of questions remain unanswered over their bowling options, with Mujeeb Ur Rahman still out injured. Sam Curran’s batting skills haven’t really come to the fore, while Hadrus Viljoen and Andrew Tye have struggled to nail a starting place.

Fantasy Players to Watch

KL Rahul has scored four 50+ scores and one hundred this season. The stylish opener could also look to put one past his old employers!

Virat Kohli has 387 runs this season and is looking a completely different player with team wins under his belt. Their clim playoff hopes depend on Kohli’s runs at the top.

Chris Gayle has 421 runs this season, with a SR of 159.46. Having already hit 78% of his season runs (330 out of 421 runs) have come out of boundaries.
