Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders

It will be a clash of teams at the opposite ends of the Indian Premier League 2019 season, as Bangalore will witness Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Friday.

RCB have had a nightmare start to IPL 2019, losing four in a row. To make matters worse, they haven’t won against KKR since May 2016 and have also lost their last three at this venue. Time to change the script or keep plunging into deeper problems?

RCB Preview

Bangalore have been disappointing with their performances, both with the bat and ball. For a team that has the likes of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Shimron Hetymer, coming up with below par scores is a big minus.

Parthiv Patel (138 runs, SR 130.18) has been their best batsman this season so far. With the bat, it is the leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal (eight wickets), who has been leading from the front.

KKR Preview

KKR have lost their last game in a Super Over to the heroics of Kagiso Rabada. However, the confidence in the camp should be still high. Nitish Rana has been scoring runs for fun, while Andre Russell’s robust hitting has derailed all the opposition teams.

Concerns remain over the bowling form of Kuldeep Yadav (ER 9.10) and Sunil Narine (ER 11.00), who remain vital to their tournament. If Dinesh Karthik can get his bowlers start performing better, KKR will be difficult to beat.

Fantasy Players to Watch

Virat Kohli is 17 runs away from becoming the second Indian cricketer after Suresh Raina to score 8, 000 T20 runs. His captaincy may not be up to the mark, but his batting form definitely is.

Andre Russell will walk into any side, for his utility bowling and destructive batting. He already has 15 sixes to his name and a SR of 248.43 to go with the five wickets he picked up. A must have in your fantasy side!

Nitish Rana has been the consistent scorer for KKR, averaging 44 at a SR of 159.03. With all attention garnered by the likes of Chris Lynn and Andre Russell, Rana does his bit almost in the background! Grab him for a spot in your fantasy side.
