With Delhi Capitals (DC) falling to a massive loss against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians (MI) have a great chance to break into the top-two. They next face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Wankhede on Wednesday, in match #51 of the Indian Premier League 2019 season.
Mumbai have seven wins in 12 games, but have lost two of their last three. Thankfully, they play both their remaining matches at home. Their record at the Wankhede this season reads 3-2 and one win will seal their playoffs spot.
SRH are two points behind with six wins and need to compulsorily win a game to stay in contention. With their key players out of reckoning, there is a concern that their chances may have diminished.
Mumbai have largely banked on their final over blitzkriegs to prosper. Hardik Pandya has been a revelation, while Kieron Pollard has shown great maturity. With Rohit Sharma also picking up form at the right time, MI have few batting worries.
It is much more settled with the ball, as Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga continue to puzzle batsmen. With Rahul Chahar impressing with his leg-spin, the only concern for Rohit remains the absence of a backup bowler.
Sunrisers have lost David Warner and Jonny Bairstow to national duty. Together, the pair have scored more than 60% of their team runs in IPL 2019. Manish Pandey has shown glimpses of form at number three and will have to play a vital role.
Rashid Khan’s impressive work rate continues to lead SRH’s bowling. Otherwise, they have been a bit below par with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Siddharth Kaul struggling throughout.
Fantasy Players to Watch
Hardik Pandya is in cracking form this season, striking 27×6 and 25×4 this season. His 355 runs have come at a SR of 198.32 and is an excellent pick for your fantasy side.
Manish Pandey has picked up his form after his promotion to number three. Now with Warner and Bairstow out of the playing XI, Pandey will have to play a bigger role.
Wriddhiman Saha will be an out of the box pick, but could be worth a shot. He has proven his worth whenever given a chance. His lusty blows and a good SR could be helpful for your fantasy side.
