Table-toppers Mumbai Indians will meet Rajasthan Royals on Sunday evening in match #45 of Indian Premier League 2020. Mumbai Indians will look to win the relatively easier encounter to confirm their position in the top two. Doing this would give them two chances to reach the finals during the playoffs.
Rajasthan Royals have had an indifferent season so far. Currently, they are in the 7th position and will try to win all their remaining matches. Not just that, they will hope the other matches end in their favour.
Rohit Sharma did not play the last match due to injury but that did not impact their performance. Under stand-in skipper Kieron pollard, Mumbai Indians registered a confident win against Chennai Super Kings. Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah, and Rahul Chahar bowled brilliantly. Their new opening pair of Quinton de Kock and Ishan Kishan batted exceptionally well to seal a 10-wicket victory.
There is still no clarity over Sharma’s injury. However, if he is match-fit, he would try to return. Mumbai Indians can also bring back James Pattinson in place of Nathan Coulter-Nile or give a well-deserved rest to Trent Boult.
The Royals continued their experiment with Ben Stokes opening despite limited success. Jos Buttler played one match-winning innings against Chennai Super Kings from the middle-order. However, the team management may still consider using him as an opener. Rajasthan Royals would need consistency from captain Steve Smith who has only 265 runs in 11 innings at an average below 30.
The Royals’ bowling is completely dependent on Jofra Archer who has already bagged 15 crucial wickets. However, Indian youngsters like Kartik Tyagi and Ankit Rajpoot have to step up. With the bat, the Royals would expect more firepower from Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag.
Quinton de Kock: Quinton de Kock is the highest run-scorer for Mumbai Indians this season. He is contributing consistently at the top and has 368 runs in 10 innings @ SR 143. He provides a lot of points for catches as well!
Jasprit Bumrah: Jasprit Bumrah has 17 wickets in 10 matches and is MI’s go-to-bowler. He is already giving a tough fight to Kagiso Rabada for the ‘Purple Cap’.
Jofra Archer: With 15 wickets (Avg. 19.26, ER 6.61) Jofra Archer is a special player for your fantasy side. Add the points he scores with aggressive batting!
