As the pace picks up in the Indian Premier League 2020 (IPL 2020) campaign, the race for points heats up. Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad play in Abu Dhabi in match #8 of the season.
Kolkata started their season with a 49-run loss to Mumbai Indians at this venue. Sunrisers started their own season with a 10-run loss against Royal Challengers Bangalore. These two remain the only sides yet to pick up a win this season. Who will be the first to break the duck?
Kolkata Knight Riders Preview
KKR have a lot of issues to ponder, although their season is just one match old. Sunil Narine at the top is not working out for the Knight Riders. However, with Eoin Morgan and Andre Russell shoring up their middle-order, KKR should get back to form soon.
Shivam Mavi had a good comeback game and could be a dark horse pick. Dinesh Karthik gives good points with his all-round skills and should be a decent pick. Kuldeep Yadav and Pat Cummins had tough outings, but should still make it to the playing XI.
Sunrisers Hyderabad Preview
Sunrisers came unstuck against the Royal Challengers in the first game. David Warner had a game to forget, while the inexperienced middle-order floundered. Kane Williamson’s injury will be monitored as Mitchell Marsh is ruled out of the tournament. His replacement Jason Holder is yet to join the squad, which means Mohammad Nabi could be given a chance.
Rashid Khan will be looking to make up for his poor outing from the first match. Bhuvneshwar Kumar had an impressive outing with the ball and should be a good pick. It was a good game for Manish Pandey too, who could be a good choice.
Fantasy Players to Watch
David Warner has made 152 runs in his last two matches against the Knight Riders with two 50s at a SR of 167.03. Can he repeat the dose?
Andre Russell has a modest average of less than 15 against the Sunrisers. However, don’t count him out in changing that on Saturday!
Rashid Khan will look to make his overs count – with wickets this time. The wily leg-break bowler should fancy his chances against an inexperienced KKR middle-order.
