Eliminator of IPL 2020 will be played between Royal Challengers and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Abu Dhabi on November 6. While Virat Kohli’s team has had tough luck in Indian Premier League, for David Warner’s side things don’t look bad over past few years.
So far, these teams have met twice in this tournament in the group stage and recorded one win each. The results have been contrasting for both towards the end of league stage. Tomorrow, a confident Sunrisers Hyderabad will face a struggling Royal Challenger Bangalore tomorrow.
Royal Challengers Bangalore Preview
After a four-year gap, Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore are finally into the playoffs again. However, after delivering a good show consistently earlier, they succumbed to four consecutive defeats which did not hurt their rankings much. They were good enough in the beginning of the group stage to ensure their entry to the top four this time. But tomorrow, Virat Kohli and co. have to get back to their winning ways to move further.
Josh Philippe in place of Aaron Finch has been good so far and so Virat Kohli may like to continue with him. Devdutt Padikkal followed by Kohli and AB de Villiers obviously speaks for the depth of RCB batting line-up. At the lower middle-order they are having problem which is why the top order batters must click for the Bangalore side tomorrow. Without Navdeep Saini their bowling is weaker now and Yuzvendra Chahal has a lot to do along with Washington Sundar. The spinner duo will have the onus of controlling the run flow.
Sunrisers Hyderabad Preview
For Sunrisers Hyderabad, the scenario has been exactly opposite. They have entered the qualifiers after winning three matches in a row. The inclusion of Wriddhiman Saha as the opening batsman has changed the fortune for Sunrisers Hyderabad lately. Their last group league match saw them beating the defending champions by 10 wickets to make it to the top four ending dreams of Kolkata Knight Riders. Moreover, a good Net Run Rate helped the side replacing RCB in 3rd place.
Saha’s entry seems to have changed the season for David Warner as well. He looks more comfortable at top now and last few performances are proof to the same. The line-up looks solid with Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Priyam Garg coming next in the middle order. When it comes to bowling, Sunrisers Hyderabad can boast of having the best in business in Rashid Khan. Sandeep Sharma has been brilliant do and proved to be a threat to the RCB batters. Late inclusion of Jason Holder has given the side a very good balance and his experience should be beneficial.
Fantasy players to watch
Rashid Khan has taken 19 wickets at an economy of 5.28 in this season so far. Moreover, in the last five games, he has picked up eight wickets at an economy of 4.85.
David Warner has scored 529 runs in 15 matches at an average of 44.08 thus far. Out of his total runs, 159 runs came in the last must win matches at a strike rate of 163.91.
Five centuries so far in the IPL 2020 makes Devdutt Padikkal a must pick for fantasy. He is also their highest run-getter with 472 runs at a strike rate of 126.54.
