India vs Australia ODI Fantasy Tips: Third ODI Preview

India vs Australia Third ODI

India brushed aside Australia’s challenge in the first two ODIs to take a 2-0 lead in the series. It is still World Cup that takes priority for both the teams, although Australia need a win on Friday to stay alive in the series.

The hosts were stretched in both the ODIs this series, but will be happy to see their middle-order come up good. Aaron Finch’s return to form augurs well for Australia, which means this game could be another close contest.

India Preview

Virat Kohli will have his premier fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar returning to the squad after resting for the first two matches. That could mean a day off for Jasprit Bumrah or Mohammed Shami. Vijay Shankar’s bowling abilities will also be under the scanner.

Shikhar Dhawan’s poor form remains a worry, as is the inconsistency of Ambati Rayudu. Rishabh Pant remains in the side as a back-up middle-order batsman and could be tried out in Ranchi. With just the Indian Premier League matches left before the World Cup, Kohli would be keen on finding a settled squad.

India Predicted XI: 1 Shikhar Dhawan 2 Rohit Sharma 3 Virat Kohli 4 Vijay Shankar 5 MS Dhoni (WK) 6 Kedar Jadhav 7 Rishabh Pant 8 Ravindra Jadeja 9 Kuldeep Yadav 10 Bhuvneshwar Kumar 11 Jasprit Bumrah

Australia Preview

The visitors improved in Nagpur, and in fact did little wrong. Their inability to tackle spin could once again be the issue as another spin pitch in Ranchi awaits. Australia will, however, be happy that their captain Finch has got back among the runs.

Nathan Lyon should continue to be the second spinner in the side, while Nathan Coulter-Nile could be rested. That might mean a game for Jason Benrendorff or Jhye Richardson. With just the upcoming five ODIs against Pakistan after this series remaining, Australia’s World Cup plans are definitely under the spotlight.

Australia Predicted XI: 1 Aaron Finch 2 Usman Khawaja 3 Shaun Marsh 4 Marcus Stoinis 5 Peter Handscomb 6 Glenn Maxwell 7 Alex Carey (WK) 8 Nathan Lyon 9 Pat Cummins 10 Adam Zampa 11 Jason Behrendorff

Fantasy Players to Watch

Vijay Shankar has been a silent performer for India in both the matches. His serene batting from the second match could see a promotion, so more runs and more fantasy points!

Shaun Marsh didn’t have a good comeback match, but has been Australia’s best batsman in the last nine months. He will look to make up for that with a big score.

MS Dhoni could probably be playing his last international at his hometown Ranchi. Watch out for the big sixes coming off his blade!
