Fantasy Football: EPL Week 9 – Manchester United vs Liverpool Preview

Old rivals Manchester United and Liverpool are all set to light up the English Premier League this weekend. Match Day 9 will feature the traditional rivals at Old Trafford on Sunday. A dominant Liverpool will look to continue their perfect starts. United on the other hand, need a win to get back on track.

The ‘Red Devils’ are without a win in three Premier League matches. Their season has been inconsistent and another loss could pull them into the regulation zone. Liverpool will not dole any favours, though. The visitors have a chance to equal the most number of consecutive Premier League wins (18).

Manchester United Preview

United’s problem has been their scoring record. Just nine goals in the season, and four of those have come in one fixture. Further, injuries to David de Gea and Paul Pogba make it worse for the hosts. With Marcus Rashford misfiring, there is little hope for United upfront.

Despite their defensive struggles, United have conceded only eight goals this season. Having Harry Maguire or stand-in ‘keeper Sergio Romero could be beneficial for your fantasy side. Otherwise, there is very little to suggest selection of other United players.

Liverpool Preview

The Reds have been utterly dominant this season, winning all eight matches. They have already scored 20 goals in the season. In seven of their eight matches, Liverpool have scored at least twice. At the other end, Liverpool have conceded only six goals.

The presence and form of Mo Salah gives Liverpool an edge. Having him in your fantasy side gives a good chance of points. Among others, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane are also good picks for your side.

Fantasy Players to Watch

Marcus Rashford has three goals and two assists to his name this season. With a number of injuries in the squad, he becomes vital for United.

Roberto Firmino has been a silent performer for Liverpool with three goals and as many assists. A definite pick for your fantasy side.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is having a great season for Liverpool. One goal and two assists for the defender make him a good choice.
