Fantasy Football: EPL Week 32 Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur

With Manchester City’s win on Saturday over Fulham in the English Premier League, Liverpool have dropped down to second. They can claim their top spot back with a win over Tottenham Hotspur, who are in a tight race for top-four places.

Draw will not be good for the home side, with City surging ahead. They have been excellent at home, however, and that should give them a boost. Tottenham’s recent form has also nosedived and that is a positive for the Reds.

Liverpool Preview

The Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has no illusions with the match. He expects Tottenham to be back at their best and present a tough match. Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 36 Premier League matches. Another unbeaten match will make it the second longest unbeaten home run in the league.

Liverpool have an incredible record against Spurs too. They have lost just one of their last 24 Premier League matches played at Anfield (W15 D8 L1), the 0-2 defeat in May 2011.

Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Spurs have lost their momentum in the race for top-three, and are now just one point ahead of fourth-placed Arsenal. Their record against Liverpool is even worse. Spurs have won only one of their last 12 Premier League matches against the Reds (W1 D4 L7), with that win coming in October 2017.

Even their recent form is poor, as Tottenham are winless in their last four league games (D1 L3). The last time they went five matches winless was in March 2012, so Mauricio Pochettino’s men have a bit of catching up to do.

Fantasy Players to Watch

Sadio Mane has scored nine goals in 2019, which is only one less than what Sergio Augero scored (ten). All his goals have come in his last nine matches and the Senagalese will be a good fantasy pick.

Harry Kane has been involved in three goals and one assist in four Premier League matches against Liverpool at Anfield.

Son Heung-Min enjoyed leading the line in Kane’s absence, when he scored 11 goals in 12 matches in all competitions. That was between December and February, but now he is goalless in his last five games for Spurs.
