Fantasy Football: EPL Week 31 Manchester United vs Manchester City Preview

Manchester United vs Manchester City

Manchester derby couldn’t have come at a worse time for Manchester United, who are in doldrums in the English Premier League. The postponed matchday #31 will see the Red Devils face their bitter local rivals Manchester City at the Old Trafford Stadium on Wednesday.

City are two points behind Liverpool, having played a game lesser. Dropping points would be catastrophic for Pep Guardiola’s side. United, on the other hand, are trying to stay afloat in the top-four race. They are sixth at the moment, with the top-four three points away.

Manchester United Preview

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seen his fortunes at the club dip, after a poor recent run. The Red Devils have lost six of their last eight matches in all competitions. That included getting dumped out of the Champions League quarterfinal.

With their next season Champions League qualification hanging only on finishing in the top-four of the Premier League. Unfortunately, with Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Arsenal looking strong, United’s top-four chances look very bleak.

Manchester City Preview

City are a team on the up, having won their last ten Premier League matches. Defensively too they have been very impressive with seven clean sheets in their last nine league matches. The only worry for Guardiola is the injury sustained by Kevin de Bruyne during mid-week.

Liverpool are watching this game with interest and should City drop the points here, it may signal a boost to Liverpool’s title hopes. However, with United in such poor form, City will fancy picking up the whole

Fantasy Players to Watch

Raheem Sterling has been enjoying a stellar season for City. His goals have come at vital situations for the visitors, who hope to witness more goals from the English winger.

Marcus Rashford was one of the consistent players for United in the league, before the Everton game. With the academy graduate looking to make it count, the Red Devils could benefit from Rashford’s prowess.

Sergio Aguero has had a middling season, but is still in the race for ‘Golden Boot’. The Argentine striker would look to add goals to his tally.
