FOOTBALL - EPL - LIVERPOOL vs ARSENAL

The two unbeaten sides of the English Premier League will clash at Anfield, as Liverpool take on Arsenal. They remain the only teams to have won the first two matches. With the 100% win record under threat, expect a close match. With their last seven encounters producing 35 goals, this game should see a lot of action as well.

Liverpool started the season with a 4-1 win over Norwich City and a 2-1 win over Southampton. Sandwiched between those wins was the UEFA Super Cup win over Chelsea. The Gunners started with two close wins – 1-0 over Newcastle United and 2-1 over Burnley.

Liverpool Preview

The Reds are unbeaten in eight matches against Arsenal (W4, D4) in all competitions. This is Liverpool’s best run over Arsenal since February 2000. In addition, Liverpool are unbeaten in 39 home matches in the Premier League. The Reds have also scored at least two goals in their last 11 Premier League games.

Liverpool have scored 22 goals against Arsenal in their last six home matches. They are still missing their ‘keeper Alisson due to injury. Fabinho and Jordan Henderson should slot back into the XI.

Arsenal Preview

Arsenal have won their last three Premier League games. In fact, they are looking to make it three in a row at the start of a Premier League season for the first time since 2004/05 season. They don’t have good memories of Anfield, but Arsenal will hope for a better outing.

Granit Xhaka has recovered from an injury and is expected to start. Record signing Nicolas Pepe could get the nod to start. Mesut Ozil is also available, but might not make it to the playing XI.

Fantasy Players to Watch

Roberto Firmino needs one goal to complete 50 Premier League goals. He would be the first Brazilian to do so.

Mohamed Salah loves playing Arsenal. He has four goals and three assists in four matches against them. Back the striker to get on the board once again.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in great scoring form already for Arsenal. He has two goals in two matches and will be eager to continue that scoring form.
