Fantasy Football: EPL Week 28 Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur

It is time for the London derby in the English Premier League this midweek fixture as Chelsea welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the Stamford Bridge. The hosts are coming off a loss via penalties to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final. The visitors were surprised by Burnley in their last league game and both sides will look to bounce back.

Chelsea Preview

The hosts have a game in hand over their top-four rivals and start this game just three points behind Arsenal at fourth. Chelsea can jump back into Champions League contention with a win. However, the Blues have lost three of their last four in the Premier League.

Chelsea’s form at the Bridge has been excellent, though, losing just once in the league this season (W8, D4, L1). They have only lost one of their last 32 home matches against Tottenham in all competitions (W20, D11). However, that lone defeat came in this fixture last season.

Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Spurs lost their last match to Burnley, that leaves them six points from the top. They can’t afford to drop any more points, as they look to get back into their winning form. Tottenham have won four of their last five league games (W4, L1).

The visitors will look to make it three consecutive league wins over Chelsea for the first time since March 1961. Away from home this Premier League season, Tottenham have won four of their last five matches (W4, L1). However, Spurs are without Dele Alli and Eric Dier for this trip.

Fantasy Players to Watch

Son Heung-Min will be vital for Tottenham’s chances and should be a clear pick for your fantasy side. With Harry Kane yet to get back to his scoring best, the South Korean could be the man for Spurs.

Eden Hazard is a great presence on the wings for Chelsea and if he can continue doing what he did through the season, Tottenham will have a tough time.

Jon Vertonghen is the bedrock of Tottenham’s defence and is the mastermind of their performances at the back. He can even chip in with odd goals, which makes him an important part of your fantasy side.
