With only 10 matches to go in the BBL 2020-21, the competition has heated up as the teams are battling it out for the top four spots. With seven out of eight teams in the contention, this will be a tense period.
Melbourne Stars and Perth Scorchers are currently in the top half of the table. Both teams will look to avoid any slip-ups when they meet tomorrow at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Melbourne Stars Preview
The Stars are coming off a surprise defeat in the Melbourne derby as the bottom-placed Renegades beat them by five wickets thanks to Mackenzie Harvey as the youngster scored a 21-ball 47 during the chase. Overall the Stars are hugely dependent on their captain Glenn Maxwell who has already scored 313 runs and picked up seven wickets. He and in-form Marcus Stoinis would be the prime picks for the fantasy teams along with Nick Larkin as Andre Fletcher is injured.
Their bowling is dependent on Adam Zampa who already has 18 wickets in the tournament. He along with the pace bowling trio of Liam Hatcher, Billy Stanlake, and Nathan Coulter-Nile are in good wicket-taking form and can be considered for fantasy teams.
Perth Scorchers Preview
Perth Scorchers beat Hobert Hurricanes pretty comfortably in their last match. Almost all their batsmen are in good form. Colin Munro is leading the run-scoring list for them with 358 runs including four fifties in the tournament. Jason Roy, Liam Livingstone, and Josh Inglis are also good batting options for the fantasy teams.
Jhye Richardson is leading the bowling unit here who has already taken the most number of wickets in the tournament. Richardson picked up four wickets in his last match and he along with experienced Andrew Tye, Jason Behrendorff, and Fawad Ahmed can be good picks for fantasy.
Fantasy Players to Watch
Marcus Stoinis is currently 4th in the run-scoring table and already scored 370 runs with a strike rate above 140. He is expected to continue his good form at the MCG.
Among all the overseas batting options for the Scorchers, Colin Munro has proved himself to be the most destructive one. He is providing key points in the fantasy regularly.
Jhye Richardson’s 25 wickets came at an average of 11 and an economy rate below 6.50. He already has two 4-wicket hauls and is a good lower-order batting option too.
