Fantasy Cricket: South Africa vs Australia T20I I Preview

The preparations for the ICC World T20 will continue in full swing as South Africa and Australia lock horns. The first of the three T20I matches will be played at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. Both teams will look to find some answers to their team compositions, ahead of the big tournament.

South Africa are coming off a white-ball series against England, where they lost the T20I series 2-1. However, the team under captain Quinton de Kock has shown enough signs of promise. For Australia, this is the first T20I series since November 2019.

South Africa Preview

South Africa will once again depend on their captain de Kock for runs. He was in great form against England, aggregating 131 runs at a SR of 214.75. Although his opening partner Temba Bavuma will miss the first match, the return of Faf du Plessis offsets that.

Lungi Ngidi was the star of the show against England, picking up 11 wickets in the series. The return of Kagiso Rabada gives further boost to the Proteas. The hosts now have a wealth of options among the bowlers to choose from, to go with the all-round options.

Australia Preview

The Kangaroos are playing in this format after a long gap. However, most of the squad players are fresh from their Big Bash League 2019/20 participation. David Warner and Steve Smith will relish being targeted by the local crowd. The return of D’Arcy Short and all-rounder Mitchell Marsh strengthens Australia’s core.

The Aussie bowling looks more formidable than ever. Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins walk into any side and so should they into your team. Adam Zampa has proven that he masters the white ball and is another excellent fantasy pick.

Fantasy Players to Watch

Quinton de Kock had an extremely good series against England. He has five 40+ scores in nine innings against Australia. His ‘keeping adds valuable fantasy points to that.

Lungi Ngidi had 11 wickets in the three T20Is against England. The lanky seamer should enjoy the conditions once again and be a natural wicket-taker.

David Warner has scores of 100*, 60*, 57*, 2*, 20, and 48* in his last six T20Is for Australia. The opener should relish another outing at the top.
