The current second spot holder Sydney Sixers will face the fifth-placed Brisbane Heat in the 35th match of BBL at Carrara Oval on Sunday.
The Sixers have won five of their eight matches and despite a huge loss in the last match looks like one of the strongest outfits in this year’s tournament. The Heat were near the bottom of the table from the beginning. However, the return of a couple of key players saw them winning the last three matches and currently they are moving up.
Sydney Sixers Preview
Sydney Sixers’ strength lies in their batting. Josh Philippe is in great form and has already accumulated 266 runs to be in the second position of the most runs table. James Vince, Jordan Silk, and the captain Daniel Hughes all made significant contributions at different points of the tournament.
Bowling wise they will depend more on Ben Dwarshuis and spinners Steve O’Keefe and Lloyd Pope. Both spinners have taken two wickets each in the last match and should be part of the fantasy teams in their current form. Daniel Christian has also taken nine wickets already and a good all-round option for fantasy teams.
Brisbane Heat Preview
With the return of Chris Lynn and Test opener Joe Burns, the Heat look like a completely different squad. Both of them are in good form and made significant contributions in recent matches. They along with Max Bryant and Joe Denly are mainstays of their batting and good fantasy picks.
Mark Steketee with 15 wickets and Mujeeb Ur Rahman with 12 wickets are the top two bowlers for the Heat. With their current form, they should be a must choice for most of the fantasy teams. Their overseas all-rounder Lewis Gregory also made a telling impact with both bat and ball.
Fantasy Players to Watch
Mark Steketee is in focus for his bowling and currently at the top of the wickets chart to make a strong case for his inclusion in the fantasy squads.
Josh Philippe already played a couple of match-winning innings including a brilliant 95. He shows good consistency and is expected to continue his good form.
Despite missing four out of the eight matches for the Heat, Chris Lynn is still the second-highest run-scorer for the team and the man-of-the-match in their last encounter.
