A damp start to the ODI series meant West Indies and India now have two matches to assert supremacy. The teams now move to Trinidad for the second ODI on Sunday. This will be played at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain.
Only 13 overs were possible in Guyana on Thursday. However, there were key pointers for both the teams. West Indies will have to look at rotating the strike more often. India will do well to keep the hosts under check with tight bowling.
West Indies Preview
Evin Lewis enjoyed good fortune and some robust hitting in the first match. He looks to be back in form, although Chris Gayle looked out of sorts. An innings of 4 off 31 balls is not something the ‘Universe Boss’ will be proud of. His non-selection in the Tests mean that Gayle has two matches before signing off from national duties.
Captain Jason Holder will hope that the hard-hitters in his side will raise their performances. West Indies will look to their youngsters to continue from what they achieved in the World Cup. The likes of Shimron Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran will remain the key for their chances.
The visitors showed that Shreyas Iyer remains their first choice for the problematic number four. He will get another chance to seal the deal. With Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the top-three, India’s batting looks in safe hands.
Bowling too showed its class in the first match. Wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav got appreciable turn, while Mohammed Shami generated good pace. The presence of all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Kedar Jadhav gives India an edge on this slow pitch.
Fantasy Players to Watch

Ravindra Jadeja adds a bit of spice in all three departments for India. His all-round contributions make him a very important fantasy pick.
Shai Hope has 865 runs in 20 ODIs in the year 2019. He remains a strong pick to contribute to your fantasy side.
