India started their New Zealand on a perfect note, winning both the T20Is played in Auckland. The teams now move to Hamilton for the third T20I at Seddon Park on Wednesday. The series is on the line, as a win will give India an unbeatable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.
Seddon Park is known for high scores and that should continue in this match. In the last five T20Is here, the team batting first scored 190+ on three occasions. Furthermore, these two sides have played here last year in a match that aggregated 420 runs and saw New Zealand by just four runs.
New Zealand Preview
It has been a mixed series so far for the hosts. They did most of the things right in the first match and lost it comprehensively. They did most of the things wrong in the second match and still went on to lose by a heavy margin. The prospect of losing the series with two matches remaining should spur the hosts on.
Whatever may be the result, the openers Martin Guptill and Colin Munro present viable fantasy selections. There is good value in choosing Tim Seifert, but otherwise there is very little value. Keep an eye on Ish Sodhi, who might continue to torment the Indians.
India have done everything right so far in the series, and are comfortably better than the Kiwis in all aspects. KL Rahul’s excellent summer continues to be laced with runs. Shreyas Iyer is another player who’s making the best out of his rare starts.
With the ball, look no further than Jasprit Bumrah for your side. The fast bowler is proving to be a tough nut to score against, especially in the slog overs. The all-rounder duo of Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja have been punching above their weight.
Fantasy Players to Watch
Colin Munro has two 50+ scores at this venue, but hasn’t been striking well this series. He will be looking to get back to his aggressive hitting.
KL Rahul continues to excel with the bat, as he keeps scoring runs consistently. He also adds value to the side as a ‘keeper.
Rohit Sharma hasn’t really shined this series, with back-to-back single scores. Considering his penchant for runs, it is time for a big one.
