Fantasy Cricket: New Zealand vs India T20I I Preview

India’s journey into finding their best T20 squad for the ICC WT20 World Cup takes them to New Zealand. They are up for a five-match T20I series, starting with the first one at Eden Park in Auckland on Friday.

The hosts are coming off a 3-0 Test series loss to Australia and must be smarting. Even their last appearance in the T20Is ended in a loss – a 3-2 series loss to England. India, on the other hand, have been clinical at home against West Indies, Sri Lanka and Australia. Time to stack your sides with Indian players? Check out!

New Zealand Preview

This series will be huge for the Kiwis. Not only are they coming off a heavy loss, a number of key players are missing out because of injuries. Trent Boult and Lockie Ferguson will be sorely missed, but the recall of Hamish Bennett gives them options.

Kane Williamson has struggled to buy runs in Australia, but should fancy doing that here. Colin de Grandhomme gives wonderful all-round options, although his place isn’t certain. Ish Sodhi should get his chance to be the lead spinner and relish a crack at the Indians.

India Preview

The visitors are with their own set of injuries – Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya miss out because of injuries. However, as was shown during the home stretch, India have a good balance within their squad.

Rohit Sharma should relish his chance at giving a good start, especially with his nemesis Boult not around. KL Rahul remains the blue-eyed boy, while Virat Kohli will be crucial considering his thirst for runs. Among the bowlers, Mohammed Shami remains the one to watch out.

Fantasy Players to Watch

Ross Taylor is probably one of the few to have come out of the Australian series with his pride intact. He will look to make it big against India.

Colin Munro doesn’t give two ways about his game – hit it hard and long. He always remains a dicey pick, but when he succeeds, Munro can be a handful for your side.

KL Rahul has been supremely consistent across all formats and is ready to don the gloves too. Having him in your side could be a good choice.
