Fantasy Cricket: New Zealand vs India 5th ODI Preview

New Zealand vs India 5th ODI

The New Zealand vs India ODI series saw yet another one-side contest in the 4th ODI. However, this time it is the host that dished out a win. Though there is very little interest left, the bragging rights are on the line when the sides meet in Wellington on Sunday.

The Kiwis will be eager to build on their win and reduce the deficit to 2-3. India, on the other hand, will look to prove a point that they can win contests even in Virat Kohli’s absence.

New Zealand Preview

The ball swung in Hamilton, which meant Trent Boult with his spell of 5/21 was devastating. There was considerable support from Colin de Grandhomme too, as India folded out for a measly 92. The chase was completed with ease, as Henry Nicholls and Ross Taylor led with masterful 30s.

As the Kiwis look for solidity at the top of the order and a return to form, conditions will be key. Boult and others can be an option for your fantasy side, but also keep an eye on the batsmen.

India Preview

It was a very poor performance in Hamilton from the Indian side, missing their regular captain. However, as was evident in the last four years, India are a strong side capable of making a comeback.

India’s lowest total since 2010 should just be an aberration, as Rohit Sharma plots an immediate comeback to form. The experienced MS Dhoni may return to the side, which should help their cause.

Fantasy Players to Watch

Henry Nicholls had a serene game as an opener leading the Hamilton chase with an unbeaten 30. Another opportunity should see him add more fantasy points to your side.

Rohit Sharma scored 167 runs in the series, but his influence goes beyond that. The stand-in captain will be crucial for India and your fantasy side too.

Ross Taylor is one of the most consistent players in ODI cricket. He already has 176 runs to his name in the series and will look to add more.
