Fantasy Cricket: New Zealand vs India 3rd ODI Preview

NZ vs Ind Third ODI

India continued their ODI dominance by brushing aside New Zealand by 90 runs in the 2nd ODI. As captain Virat Kohli is set to a break after this match, India will look to make it 3-0 at Mount Maunganui on Monday.

New Zealand are desperate to find a way past their spin woes, as they look to get back in the series. With the same pitch that was played on Saturday to be used, New Zealand batsmen will be tested by the Indian wrist spinners.

New Zealand Preview

Martin Guptill and Colin Munro have failed in both the matches to give New Zealand a good score. That meant the Kiwi spine of Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor were tested much earlier than expected.

New Zealand will look to play both their spinners, but balancing their lower-order could be a challenge. Having Mitchell Santner back is almost a given, while Doug Bracewell and Colin de Grandhomme could be fighting for one spot.

India Preview

India have not many problems in the series, unless if you count the over-dependence on the top-order. Kohli could be eying a big score before he leaves these shores for rest. That means more trouble for the Kiwis.

The Indian spinners will be eyeing another good outing, considering the pitch will be suitable to their bowling. Hardik Pandya comes back from a ban and could slot straight into the playing XI.

Fantasy Players to Watch

Kuldeep Yadav is enjoying a great series and a great season with the ball. Already he has eight wickets to his name. No spinner has taken a five-for in New Zealand over the last decade, so watch out for the chinaman bowler!

Virat Kohli had scores of 46, 45 & 43 in his last three ODIs – not bad for any player, but for Kohli it is below par. With this being his last day of the tour, expect him to go for a century.

Kane Williamson will be smarting from the losses and that could mean more responsible runs from the Kiwi captain. That could mean a bounty if you have him in your fantasy side!
