Fantasy Cricket: New Zealand vs India 2nd ODI Preview

New Zealand vs India 2nd ODI

A strong performance with the ball gave India an eight-wicket win in the 1st ODI against New Zealand in Napier. All eyes will be on how the Kiwis will improve when the scene moves to the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Saturday.

Both sides look evenly matched on paper, although India look top of their game. With a strong bowling unit at his disposal, Virat Kohli will look to make it 2-0 in the five-match series.

New Zealand Preview

The Kiwi middle-order, which was supposed to be their strength, came second-best in Napier. Seven wickets were lost to the Indian spinners, which will be their focus coming into this match.

Martin Guptill averages just 28.20 against India, which is the lowest for him against any side. He will be desperate for a big score, and so will be Ross Taylor. He has ten 50+ scores in his last 13 ODIs and is a good player to pick.

India Preview

India didn’t need to flex their muscles and cantered to a win in Napier. The spin-twins Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal picked up six wickets and will once again be a threat.

Rohit Sharma has managed at least one century in his last ten ODI series. That means he could be due for runs! Kohli will leave after the next ODI, which means he will look to pick up as many runs in these two.

Fantasy Players to Watch

Kane Williamson enjoys playing India at home and has six consecutive 50s against them. His scores read: 71. 77, 65, 60, 88 & 64. Another fifty could be in the making!

Kuldeep Yadav’s 4/39 in the first match was second-best by an Indian spinner in New Zealand. Combined with his economy rate, he is a great option for your fantasy XI.

Rohit Sharma has a habit of scoring big runs with effortless ease. He has scored at least one century in his last ten ODI series. That makes him an interesting pick for your side!
