Brisbane Heat and Adelaide Strikers will meet at the Gabba on 23rd December, for the 13th match of Big Bash League 2020-21. It is going to be the first one played at the Gabba this season.
Brisbane Heat will be looking for its first win of the season at their first home match. For Adelaide Strikers, the challenge will be to bring back the rhythm and consistency in their game.
Brisbane Heat Preview
After a six-wicket defeat against Melbourne Stars in their tournament opener, Brisbane Heat looked set to win their second game of the edition. They were in the driving seat for the large part of the game against Sydney Thunder and should have won it. Chris Lynn who smashed 69 with five sixes last time out will be a fantasy favourite.
Max Bryant and Sam Heazlett are not very convincing at the top. However, it is the middle order consisting of Daniel Lawrence and Tom Cooper that really needs a wake-up call. Jack Wildermuth is the main man and should be a must pick in the fantasy teams.
Adelaide Strikers Preview
Adelaide Strikers have played three games so far with just one win to their name. They seem to lack consistency which was evident in their last match against Sydney Sixers. The Strikers started well with the bat but then saw a collapse resulting in a heavy defeat. Jake Weatherald and Philip Salt can provide some powerful starts and the star-studded middle need to capitalize.
Unfortunately, the side will be without Alex Carey this time and things will be more challenging. This means the opening duo must perform and will be key fantasy players. Peter Siddle and Daniel Worrall are expected to scalp key wickets and provide major fantasy points.
Fantasy Players to Watch
Jack Wildermuth has played only one match for Brisbane Heat so far and has scored 31 runs with the bat while picking three wickets. The exceptional all-rounder will be a key fantasy player.
From three matches, Jake Weatherald has accumulated 96 runs for the Strikers with an unbeaten 68 being his best score. In absence of Carey in the middle-order, Weatherald will be a key contributor.
Daniel Worrall has picked four wickets so far including a stunner in the last match (4-0-12-2). He also emerged as a decent batsman in the opening game of Adelaide Strikers.
