Table-toppers Hobart Hurricanes will play the bottom-ranked Brisbane Heat in the latter’s home ground tomorrow at Gabba. Both teams have few new inclusions and hence despite the significant gap in the table, this match looks to be a closely contested one.
The Heats lost all three matches but would consider themselves unlucky to lose very close battles in the last two encounters. The Hurricanes have won three out of their four matches thanks to key performance in both bat and bowling department.
Brisbane Heat Preview
One of the biggest concerns for the Heats is the unavailability of their captain Chris Lynn who is out due to a hamstring issue. Stand-in captain Jimmy Peirson almost took them to a win in the last match and they will hope for him to contribute again. Sam Heazlett and Tom Cooper are expected to be key players in fantasy. Lewis Gregory has joined the squad and if selected should become a key fantasy pick.
For them, Ben Laughlin’s form will be a cause for concern as the fast bowler has yet to pick up a wicket. They will depend on Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Jack Wildermuth, and Xavier Bartlett for providing key break-throughs.
Hobart Hurricanes Preview
The Hurricanes are already in great form with Colin Ingram, Ben McDermott, and Tim David currently in the top three positions of the run tally. They also have number one ranked T20 batsman Dawid Malan joining their squad to provide even more depth. All these batters are very good options for fantasy picks.
James Faulkner already has 8 wickets in this tournament. Riley Meredith and Nathan Ellis are also in good form and have 5 wickets from 4 matches jointly. They should be good fantasy picks against the Heats.
Fantasy Players to Watch
Colin Ingram got starts in all four matches and already scored a fifty. He should be a fantasy must have with his current form.
James Faulkner also picked up wickets in all four matches with 3/21 against Adelaide Strikers. He is maintaining an average of 13.50 and economy of 6.75.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman took only 1 wicket in the 2 matches he played. But if the Heats wish to come back to winning ways, he needs to play a key role.
