Fantasy Cricket: England vs Windies Test III Preview

England rode on Ben Stokes’ heroics to win the second Test and level the series 1-1. The momentum is with the hosts, while the visitors have a great chance of retaining the ‘Wisden Trophy’. The third Test will be played at Old Trafford from Friday, July 24.

All eyes will be on the Manchester weather, as days two to four are scheduled to receive rain. That should suit West Indies nevertheless, as the current holders of the trophy will retain it in case of a draw.

England Preview

The questions in the England camp will be around their bowling attack. Jofra Archer will be available after missing the second Test due to disciplinary suspension. England may have to decide between playing either one of James Anderson or Stuart Broad. With the pitch set to be quicker than the previous one, England would be tempted to play Mark Wood.

As for your fantasy selections, Ben Stokes stands tall in the England side. The all-rounder looked a bit stiff in the second Test, but might not be afforded rest. Dominic Sibley is another England player in excellent form making him a prudent pick.

West Indies Preview

The Windies have a lot of decisions to make in their batting department. Shai Hope and John Campbell look out of form and could be set for a place on the bench. The Windies could dig into their reserves to replace them, while the bowling unit could be retained. Shane Dowrich’s place is also under question, as he tries to improve on his pair in the second Test.

Shamarh Brooks and Jermaine Blackwood have looked the best among the Windies’ players. Alzarri Joseph is under an injury cloud and choosing him will have to wait until team selections. Jason Holder once again looms as an important all-round pick.

Fantasy Players to Watch

Ben Stokes has been the best player on view in this series. He has 343 runs and 9 wickets this series, that warrants a place in your side.

Jason Holder has been in impressive form for the Windies with 8 wickets. He was less effective in the second Test and will look to bounce back.

Roston Chase has 141 runs and seven wickets in the series making him as effective as Holder. The spin all-rounder deserves a place in your side.
