CRICKET - ENG vs AUS ODI I

England and Australia last played an ODI in the semi-final of the 2019 ICC World Cup where the hosts outplayed their Ashes rivals. All that will be forgotten if Australia can push the World Champions to a corner. The three-match ODI series begins in Manchester with a day-night match on Friday.

With the ICC ODI Super League points up for grabs, both teams will have a lot at stake. England won the preceding T20I series 2-1, but Australia would be thinking they should have been the winners. There are so many strong ODI players on offer for this match, thus making this a very interesting Fantasy Team selection.

England Preview

Jason Roy is fit for selection, while captain Joe Root comes back after the T20I snub. Roy smashed Australia for 85 runs off 65 balls in the World Cup semis and remains a good pick. Eoin Morgan loves playing on this ground and is another strong choice.

Mark Wood and Jofra Archer will be available for selection. Considering how they troubled Australia with pace in the T20Is, keep an eye on them. Adil Rashid is another exciting choice given his strong inclination to pick wickets.

Australia Preview

The visitors would be disappointed at losing the T20I series 2-1 after leading from the front in all games. ODIs are a different fabric and the Aussies are still figuring out their best play. The return of Marnus Labuschagne brings more solidity to their batting.

Bowling remains a very strong area for Australia. The presence of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazlewood is a boon for any captain. Ashton Agar with his all-round skills has been impressive in the T20Is. He could be a surprise choice for your side.

Fantasy Players to Watch

Aaron Finch needs 118 runs to reach 5,000 ODI runs. Not just that, he has three 100+ scores and six 50+ scores as ODI captain in just 25 innings.

Eoin Morgan has the most runs in H2H matches with 1,864 and has the most runs at this venue among active players.

Adil Rashid needs just two wickets to become the third wicket-taker in H2H ODIs.
