CRICKET - BBL - KNOCKOUT

After winning their Eliminator by four wickets, Brisbane Heat will now meet the 4th placed Sydney Thunder in another Knockout contest. The match will be played at Manuka Oval, Canberra on the 31st of January.

The Thunder finished in the fourth position in the table, just above the Heat. During the league stage, the teams played each other twice and finished with one win each in two high scoring encounters.

Sydney Thunder Preview

For the Thunder, Alex Hales is their biggest threat now. The highest run-scorer of the season Hales is in great touch and will get good support from Sam Billings, Callum Ferguson, and Usman Khawaja. They are also expecting the all-rounder Daniel Sams to return to the team. He will provide a good finisher option as he has already scored nearly 200 runs in the tournament.

The young leg-spinner Tanveer Sangha is leading their bowling attack with 21 wickets. Nathan McAndrew and Chris Green are also among the wickets and should be good options for the fantasy teams.

Brisbane Heat Preview

Brisbane won the Eliminator, thanks to their leg-spinner duo Mitchell Swepson and Marnus Labuschagne who picked up five wickets among them. The wicket-keeper Jimmy Peirson also played a handy cameo during the chase. Their batting will remain dependent on the openers Chris Lynn and Max Bryant. Labuschagne and Peirson also should remain among the top picks for fantasy.

Along with the spinners they also have good pace bowling options like Mark Steketee, Xavier Bartlett, and Ben Laughlin who can be good fantasy options. They also brought Morne Morkel in place of Bartlett midway during the last match.

Fantasy Players to Watch

Marnus Labuschagne’s all-round qualities making him a popular pick for the fantasy team as lots of points are expected from him.

Alex Hales has scored 535 runs in the series including a hundred and fifty in his last three outings. He is in blazing form and should not be ignored.

At the end stage of the tournament, the spinners are getting good purchases from the wickets, and this young leg spinner, Tanveer Sangha is expected to continue the good work.
