Fantasy Cricket: BBL Challenger Scorchers v Heat Preview

Brisbane Heat finished the BBL group stage in fourth position. They have beaten Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Thunder in the final phase and now just one match away from booking their spot in the final.

They will face Perth Scorchers, the team who finished second and lost to Sydney Sixers in the Qualifier. The penultimate match of this year’s BBL will take place at Manuka Oval, Canberra on 4th February.

Perth Scorchers Preview

Perth Scorchers can also boast of a very strong batting line-up including Jason Roy, Liam Livingstone, Colin Munro, and Josh Inglis. All of them can be key picks for fantasy teams along with Mitchell Marsh who is playing the all-rounder’s role perfectly.

Jhye Richardson is leading the table for the highest wicket-takers with 27 wickets. And they will also have experienced bowlers like Andrew Tye, Jason Behrendorff, and Fawad Ahmed to depend on. Tye’s last ball wide which made James Vince stranded on 98 was a big talking point in the last match and they hoped that did not distract their players too much.

Brisbane Heat Preview

Brisbane Heat are currently in a 4-match winning run including a win against the Scorchers in their last match during the league stage. Their top-order batsmen are in the form including the captain Chris Lynn, Marnus Labuschagne, and Sam Heazlett, who played a match-winning innings in the last match. Heazlett and the wicket-keeper Jimmy Peirson will be in demand for fantasy teams.

A big reason for their current good performance is the performance of their leg-spinning duo of Mitchell Swepson and Labuschagne. The duo picked up 18 wickets together and along with Mark Steketee who has 24 wickets in the tournament, are the biggest threats for the Heat.

Fantasy Players to Watch

Chris Lynn, the captain of Brisbane Heat has already scored 436 runs with five half-centuries. Being a high impact player, Lynn would like to make a mark in this important encounter.

Colin Munro is one of the most renowned T20 players in the world and already scored 441 runs in the tournament. A lot will depend on him from the Scorcher’s standpoint.

After wickets in almost every match, Jhye Richardson finished wicketless last time out. But he is in great form. No wonder he is expected to be back among wickets soon.
