Fantasy Cricket: Australia vs Sri Lanka 2nd Test Preview

Australia vs Sri Lanka 2nd Test

A new Test venue will bring the international home summer to an end for Australia. The second and final Test against Sri Lanka will be played from Friday at Manuka Oval in Canberra.

The thrashing in Brisbane has certainly lowered Sri Lanka’s expectations, and they will try to be at least competitive. The hosts, however, will look to secure a 2-0 victory and finish the home campaign on a high.

Australia Preview

There were plenty of positives for Australia from the Brisbane Test. Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head stitched a fine batting partnership. Jhye Richardson’s impressive debut overshadowed Mitchell Starc’s form.

Pat Cummins was the star, though, with a ten-wicket match haul. Marcus Harris showed good patience at the top of the batting order. Have a look at Kurtis Patterson, who impressed with his technique in the middle-order.

Sri Lanka Preview

Sri Lanka folded inside eight seasons and failed to aggregate 300 across the two innings. The bowlers fared a lot better and Suranga Lakmal lead from the front with five wickets.

Manuka Oval’s batting strip gives them a chance to compete better. However, injuries to fast bowlers has left them weakened. Lahiru Kumara and Dushmantha Chameera have already returned home. However, the biggest worry remains the injury cloud over Lakmal.

Fantasy Players to Watch

Marcus Harris has grown by leaps and bounds from the Indian series. So much so, that he now stands a good chance for the Ashes. Harris looked good in the first Test and can reward his selection with fantasy points.

Kusal Mendis was the second-highest run-scorer in 2018 Tests behind Virat Kohli. However, he hasn’t shown any of that form in Brisbane. Now with his reputation on the line, Mendis will look to get the runs.

Pat Cummins had an irresistible Test in Brisbane. The newly appointed Australian vice-captain can continue to impress and should be one of the first picks of your fantasy side.
