Fantasy Cricket: 2019 ICC World Cup – Australia vs Bangladesh Preview

A spectacular New Zealand win over South Africa has pushed Australia down to third (eight points) in the 2019 ICC World Cup. That gives them extra motivation ahead of match #26 against Bangladesh. This will be played on Thursday at Nottingham.

Weather will be a variable too, as the India vs New Zealand match at this venue was washed off. The forecast is for a bit of showers, but we should have a full game. Bangladesh (five points) have kept their hopes of breaking into the top-four open, but need a win.

Australia Preview

Critics still keep saying that this Australian side has got no balance. However, the Aussies keep churning out wins even when the chips are down. Barring the loss to India, Australia have dominated their opponents in all the games.

The most important ‘team balance’ will be back to normal as all-rounder Marcus Stoinis will be back. Australia will also think about including the off-spinner Nathan Lyon. Whoever comes in, Australia look better placed to pick another win.

Bangladesh Preview

Aren’t they the surprise packages of the tournament? With wins over South Africa and the West Indies, they have shown that they are dangerous. The Tigers have the squad to take advantage of sub-continent conditions.

However, when the ball seams around, it could be a challenge. Talismanic all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been doing it all for them. If the other senior players play around him, Australia could be in for a huge challenge.

Fantasy Players to Watch

Shakib Al Hasan is having a glorious tournament. He has 384 runs to his name in four games, with two 100s and two 50s. Add the five wickets he has taken and you know why he is a must have in your fantasy side!

David Warner has enjoyed his return to the Aussie colors and has 281 runs this tournament. His SR of 76.98 is still not what he usually does.

Steve Smith has also been brilliant so far with 243 runs for an average of 48.60. He has three 50s to his name already and has been very consistent.
