Big Bash League (BBL08) Fantasy Tips: Thunder vs Renegades Preview

Sydney Thunder vs Melbourne Renegades

The Big Bash League 2018/19 (BBL08) season rolls on and match #38 will witness Sydney Thunder take on the Melbourne Renegades at the Spotless Stadium in Sydney on Tuesday.

It is an important game for the Thunder (W4, L4, NR1) who were denied a win against Heat by floodlight failure. The Renegades (W5, L5) have been inconsistent in BBL08 and need to get their house back in order.

Sydney Thunder Preview

Shane Watson (288 runs, SR 137.79) smashed the first century of BBL08 and is in good form. However, none of the other top-order batsmen are consistently among the runs.

Anton Devcich has just joined the squad as an overseas replacement for Jos Buttler. Although he hasn’t set the stage alight, the all-rounder can be a good pick for your fantasy XI. Other names that can be considered are bowlers Chris Green, Fawad Ahmed and all-rounder Daniel Sams.

Sydney Thunder Predicted XI: 1 Shane Watson 2 Anton Devcich 3 Callum Ferguson 4 Jason Sangha 5 Jay Lenton 6 Arjun Nair 7 Daniel Sams 8 Chris Green 9 Chris Jordan 10 Gurinder Sandhu 11 Fawad Ahmed

Melbourne Renegades Preview

The Renegades continue to disappoint with the bat, with only one individual fifty in BBL08. The return of Aaron Finch is good news, but the departure of Marcus Harris weakens them. Sam Harper (220 runs, SR 134.14) is a catch for your fantasy side, and so is Tom Cooper (178 runs, SR 117.10).

Kane Richardson’s bowling form (16 wickets, ER 7.50) is a big boost for the Renegades. Mohammad Nabi (seven wickets, 168 runs) has been a very good all-round contributor, so have an eye on him.

Fantasy Players to Watch

Mohammad Nabi has been impressive this season and is slowly getting into some bowling form. With the pitches set to become slow and low, he can be a good value addition to your fantasy side.

Shane Watson is fresh from the first century of BBL08 and looks in good form. He is no longer bowling, but his runs are enough to put him in your fantasy XI.

Kane Richardson had an excellent season and has consistently been among the wickets. Picking him in your fantasy side is a huge plus for your team.
