The race for top-four in the Big Bash League (BBL08) 2018/19 season is set to witness a close contest as the Sydney Sixers take on the Brisbane Heat at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Sunday.

The Sixers (W4, L5) have lost three of their last four BBL08 matches, but have won against the Heat on New Year’s Day. The Heat (W3, L4, NR1) were lucky to earn a point in their last match. However, they have lost just one of their last six matches.

Melbourne Sixers Preview

Opener Daniel Hughes (224 runs, SR 125.13) is their only player in the top-10 batsmen of BBL08. Moises Henriques is yet to fire, which is a worry. Three Sixers’ bowlers remain in the top-10 bowlers list. Steve O’Keefe (15), Sean Abbott (12) and Tom Curran (11) have all been among the wickets.

For your fantasy picks, Curran can be an effective selection. Hughes has been consistent with the bat, while Jordan Silk has also proved to be a good pick.

Brisbane Heat Preview

The ‘Bash Brothers’ Chris Lynn (317 runs, SR 129.91) and Brendon McCullum (205 runs, SR 131.41) are always prime fantasy picks from the Heat side. Injury to James Pattinson means bowling will revolve around Brendan Doggett and Mujeeb Ur Rahman (seven wickets each).

With his economical bowling, Rahman is a good fantasy pick for your side. Keep an eye on the all-round skills of Ben Cutting, who can reward you with fantasy points.

Fantasy Players to Watch

Chris Lynn is a dangerous customer when in the mood. He blasted 84 off just 55 balls in the previous match against the Sixers this season. Lynn can be a very good pick for your fantasy side.

Tom Curran has been having an excellent season with both the bat and the ball. The all-rounder has aggregated 100+ runs and has taken 11 wickets. His consistency makes him a good pick to your fantasy side.

Daniel Hughes is the only Sixers’ batsman who remains in the top-10 batsmen of BBL08. His calm presence makes sure he stays among the runs – a good enough reason to be chosen in your fantasy XI.
