Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat

It is the basement clash in the Big Bash League (BBL) 2018/19 season, as Optus Stadium in Perth will witness a crucial encounter between Perth Scorchers and Brisbane Heat. While the Heat are yet to pick up a win in BBL08, the Scorchers are only marginally above with one win in five matches. Both sides will be looking for a win or risk losing momentum.

Perth Scorchers Preview

It has been a poor season so far for the Scorchers. Part of their problems lie in their top-order failure, as the experienced Michael Klinger continues to flop. Regular captain Mitch Marsh returns from Test duties and adds weight to their middle order.

Bowling has been about the fast bowling duo of Jason Behrendorff (seven wickets) and Jhye Richardson (six wickets). The Scorchers will hope that the others come to the party – especially Andrew Tye!

Perth Scorchers Predicted XI: 1 Michael Klinger 2 Will Bosisto 3 Cameron Bancroft (WK) 4 Ashton Turner 5 Mitch Marsh 6 Ashton Agar 7 Hilton Cartwright 8 Nathan Coulter-Nile 9 Andrew Tye 10 Matt Kelly 11 Jhye Richardson

Brisbane Heat Preview

Three losses in a row isn’t too bad a thing, but the Heat will feel the need to pick up a win. Superstar Chris Lynn (146 runs, SR 130.35) has just picked up form and that is great news. He can score runs in a hurry and having him in your fantasy side is a must!

Bowling hasn’t really impressed, although the Afghan mystery spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman (two wickets, ER 6.58) has been steady. James Pattinson (ER 6.50) has also impressed with his control. However, unless he starts picking wickets it is not worthy having him in your fantasy XI.

Brisbane Heat Predicted XI: 1 Chris Lynn 2 Max Bryant 3 Matt Renshaw 4 Brendon McCullum 5 Alex Ross 6 Jimmy Peirson (WK) 7 James Pattinson 8 Ben Cutting 9 Mujeeb Ur Rahman 10 Brendan Doggett 11 Josh Lalor

Fantasy Players to Watch

Chris Lynn is a player who can smash any attack out of the park on his day. He picked up form with a 55-ball 84 against the Sixers, so it is time you pick him in your side.

Jhye Richardson is a skiddy bowler who can be tough to play when there is bounce in the pitch. The Optus Stadium suits his game and he could repay you with wickets of you choose him in your fantasy XI.

Ashton Turner is a very effective player for the Scorchers with his ability to construct innings. Back him in your side to fetch some runs and points!
